Here is how a teacher in New York told the class: She asked them to do the following exercise: The children would each take a sheet of paper, after which they were told to crumple it up, stomp on it, and also give it some beatings, without tearing it.

So she asked the children to unfold the sheet of paper and look at how dirty and full of marks and scars it had been. So the children were told to apologize to the sheet of paper. Despite the fact that they had apologized and that they had tried to smooth out the sheet of paper, so it was still curled and that these brands would never disappear, no matter how much they tried to remove them. It was similar to what a child does when the bully another child. Although it afterwards says sorry, will the scars never disappear. Children's facial expressions told that the message had the desired effect.
